Athletes are now favoring black sports shoes for the same reason. It’s rare to see the white sneakers of the old days that started off looking clean and were soiled by the end of a sports match. Black sports shoes can look as good as they did when they arrived at the event, when it’s time for the athlete to go home. You will now see them adorning the feet of many baseball and soccer players for this very reason.

Black shoes that do get scuffed or dusty are easily cleaned with a damp cloth and can regain their luster by using a good black shoe polish. This means the shoes will be wearable for a longer period of time than their lighter cousins.

Sandals: The perfect shoe to coordinate with any ensemble, weather permitting, of course. This style of shoe has been around for thousands of years, as the simple, versatile style could be worn while you were building a pyramid or dressed to kill for an evening out at the chariot races. Its simple design of a sole held onto one’s foot by straps has made this warm climate shoe a favorite among designers for generations. Rhinestones and other sparkling objects are added to the straps to take this simple shoe to an all-new level.

Pumps: This graceful, yet comfortable shoe was made popular in the 1930’s and 1940’s when the glamorous ladies of the silver screen wore them for nearly every occasion. A thin, metal rod was placed within the heel for this matter. Stilettos can be seen in everything from boots to slingbacks, and pumps to mules. It truly takes a master to walk successfully in these, so heed any warnings and practice diligently before heading out.

Platforms: Since ancient times, platforms have been utilized in footwear to add height to those who were “vertically challenged”. Today cork, wood, or even plastic is used to “pump up” the shoe by adding an inch or two (or more), with or without a heel. Boots, sandals and sandals are each popular in their own way within the platform shoe genre.

Marabou: Did someone say feathers? Marabou feathers have been added to mules with a heel (usually within the stiletto family) across the front material holding the front of the foot in place. Popular behind closed doors, these ultra-fab, fluffy shoes unfortunately don’t hold up well in unfavorable weather.

Ankle Boots: This shorter style of boot comes in a variety of styles and heel heights, but is mostly worn with pants, jeans or trousers. Flare, skinny, or boot-cut bottoms all look great with ankle-length boots.

Knee High Boots: Whether you’re wearing pants that are tucked neatly in the boots, a knee length skirt, or an ultra-short mini, this style of boot goes unmatched by any other. This trend that initiated itself in the cold, winter months has grown to be worn well into warmer weather. Heel lengths and widths vary immensely, as do the styles of the boots themselves.

Thigh High Boots: Sometimes referred to as “Over the Knee”, these larger than life boots are often associated with exotic dancers and those employed in the world’s oldest profession. That’s too bad because these boots are practical and versatile, as there aren’t many varieties of footwear that can keep your legs warm while wearing a mini-skirt in the dead of winter in Montreal. Heel heights range from ultra-high to basically non-existent.

On average, shoes that weren’t marked down heavily due to a sale or clearance however generally ranged in the $40-$50 range.
In the same search, in an effort to get a good range nailed down, we came across the most expensive pair of shoes that I could find. After I managed to sort out shoes that were specifically geared towards activities and sports such as mountain climbing (if you’re looking for shoes that are geared towards climbing a mountain I would hope that you would be willing to spend the extra money), I came across a pair of women’s easy sprint shoes that cost $257.95 called Bikkembergs Ihil9.
The point to be made here is that with athletic shoes it’s very easy to be led into the line of thought that the more expensive something is, the better it is. While this is true of many items in the world, this does not always apply to shoes.
Before shelling out money for a pair of women’s easy sprint shoes make sure that you are judging the cost versus how much you are actually going to use them. If it’s not an even ratio, find a pair with a price tag that is manageable

Cowboy boots are just that, boots that are designed to used and worn by cowboys. Cowboy boots got their start in the early 1860s during the Civil War deriving from the original design of the cavalry boot worn by soldiers. Then in the 1870s and 1880s working cattlemen in the ranching states of Texas, Kansas and Oklahoma turned to boot makers and asked them to make alterations to their boots in order to better suit the conditions they worked under. The two best-known makers of the cowboy boot in that era were Justin of Justin Boots in Spanish, Fort Texas (also known as “Big Daddy Joe”) and Charles Hyer of Hyer Brothers Boots in Olathe, Kansas.
Cowboy boots have a unique design that is all their own. They are constructed with a high shaft, a high heel, a rounded to pointed toe and no lacing whatsoever. The earliest types of cowboy boots were made of plain leather but as time progressed cowboys wanted fancier boots complete with decorative stitching, an assortment of materials and cutouts in the high tops (Texas stars were once “all the rage”). Today not only cowboys wear boots. Some people enjoy the feel as well as the fashion of wearing modern day cowboy boots and they can be purchased in almost any color you desire. When The Shoe Doesn’t Fit- Foot Conditions Caused By Improperly Fitting Shoes

No one relishes the pain and discomfort that accompanies improperly fitting shoes- ouch! There are a number of foot conditions that can result over time from shoes that don’t fit properly. These include plantar fasciitis, bunions, corns and calluses, Morton’s neuroma metatarsalgia, and toe conditions such as hammer toes/claw toes and ingrown toenails.
Plantar fasciitis is a foot condition in which inflammation is brought on by too much stretching taking place of the plantar fascia, which is the tissue that extends the full length of the foot bottom. Regular heel pain can also result and this is a very common complaint and occurs when weight is brought down to bear on the heel bringing on a lot of discomfort. Plantar fasciitis can lead to other problems such as heel spurs, arch pain and excessive heel pain. The first sign that you are suffering from plantar fasciitis is acute pain first thing in the morning when you step out of bed or any time after you have had a long sleep. The pain originates from where the heel and arch of the foot meet. The pain often lessens throughout the day. If you suffer from this condition it is advisable to take a very close look at what you wear on your feet. Always wear shoes and preferably arch supports that help support and protect your arch and wear ones that have proper shock absorption. People suffering from plantar fasciitis are not encouraged to walk around barefoot at any time.
Bunions, another common foot condition, are a very obvious bump that forms on the inside of the foot around the joint of the big toe. Corns are a build up of dead skin cells that are made worse by the rubbing of ill-fitting shoes. Corns are usually found on the toes, the top or sides, and they form a thick hardened spot that contains a cone-shaped middle, which exposes the nerve and causes pain and discomfort. Calluses are similar to cones in that they are the build up of dead skin cells that have thickened and hardened over time and are the body’s defense mechanism against tremendous friction and pressure. Unlike corns, calluses don’t have a center core and generally develop on the bottom of the foot, the heel and sometimes areas of the toes. In order to prevent bunions, corns and calluses always wear footwear that fits your feet properly as well as socks, pantyhose and stockings. In other words, don’t wear anything too loose or too tight. Always buy footwear that boosts a wide toe box, which gives the toes lots of room to move.
Morton’s neuroma metatarsalgia is a condition that causes inflammation in the metatarsal region of the foot (the area right before the toes or the ball of the foot). This condition causes bones to squeeze a nerve between the third and fourth metatarsal head and some people experience acute, recurrent pain while others develop chronic pain in the area of the ball of the foot. If you suffer from metatarsalgia always wear footwear that has a higher, wider toe box and a deep cup complete with metatarsal padding and support. Getting into the habit of wearing an arch support with a pad is wise as well because it decreases pressure on the foot and redistributes the weight properly.
Hammertoes can occur in any of the big toes with the exception of the big one.
